The mortal remains of actor Sobhan Babu was consigned to flames at Shantinikethan, his farm house at Poonamalli, Chennai, today evening. Thousands of fans, film industry elite joined the funeral procession and paid their last respects to the departed artiste, despite drenching rain. The actor's son Karunaseshu lit the funeral pyre.Film industry biggies who arrived in Chennai to pay homage to their colleague included Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao, Dr. Mohan Babu, Chiranjeevi, Murali Mohan, Ramanaidu, Jayasudha, Nagoor Babu, K. Viswanath, Krishnamraju, Chandramohan, Roja, SP Balasubramanyam and others.
