
Murder case against Anushka
East Godavari police on Sunday registered a criminal case against heroine Anushka on charges of murder. It is known that the actress is said to have pushed a dupe (for Raviteja) into the swirling waters of turbulant Godavari as part of the film shoot the day before. While the dupe for Sunil swam to safety, Ravi Teja's had been washed away and his body was found on Sunday evening. The case registration came in the wake of huge furor by the locals at Purushottamapatnam near the mishap site. The film is made on Suresh Productions banner with Uday Shankar directing it.

Tension prevailed in some areas of Vijayawada, when some miscreants damaged the cut-outs of actor Chiranjeevi, which were erected by his fans, inviting the star to come into politics. They alleged that it was an act of Congress people and demanded arrest of the culprits.

The body of one Mahendra, a youth who worked as dupe for hero Raviteja, was traced in river Godavari near Rajahmundry, this evening. He went missing since yesterday afternoon, when he jumped into the deep river from a boat as Ravi Teja dupe along with another man (dupe for Sunil) as part of the film shoot. The film stars Ravi Teja and Anushka in the lead role. This Suresh Productions film is directed by Uday Shankar.According to eyewitnesses, heroine Anushka repeatedly asked Mahendra whether he knew swimming, before pushing him into the river. However, the youth was said to have assured the heroine that he knew swimming. while, the dupe of Sunil swam to safety, Mahendra went missing, creating moments of worry and tragedy for the villgers of Purushottamapatnam near the historical riverside town.
The locals said that those who take up film shoot in the river generaly would be unaware of the danger at the deep areas. Earlier, similar incident was said to have occured years ago during the shoot of Ravi Teja's film Sindhuram. At this present case, the police earlier registered a case of missing.
