Indra-mark campaign on Ugadi?

Latest buzz is that actor Chiranjeevi is getting ready to launch his party from Alipiri, the foothills of Tirumala hills. It is believed that Chiranjeevi will sure give his first public sign of his political ambitions on Ugadi Day, Telugu New Year. He is expected to visit the temple of Lord Venkateswara along with his family members on that auspicious day. Two unconfirmed versions are prevailing now: 1) Chiru will launch a padayatra from the Alipiri point – to lead through the main thoroughfares of the downhill Tirupati. He is also expected to garland the statue of NTR at the Town Club junction. Everybody is aware that NTR was the man behind the incredible development of Tirupati. Interestingly, NTR chose Tirupati as his favorite place whenever he launched political campaigns. Even Nandamuri Harikrishna, when got estranged with Chandrababu Naidu, launched his Anna Telugu Desam Party’s campaign from Alipiri. Above all, Tirupati holds out a strong segment of one particular community. 2) The mega campaign will start from Alipiri (representing Chittoor district) and will end at Ichhapuram (Srikakulam) – along the coastal belt. But, the main organizers behind are planning a chaturbuj-like coverage of the areas, touching Telengana also. The campaign includes Padayatras, open-top jeep-travel amidst public gatherings, going Indra-style with choppers for quick reach and rallies. The electrifying campaign will be finished by the time the election notification is issued (in case of early general elections). Intellectuals in Chiru camp are also gauzing the Election Commission’s stipulations on expenditure. Come April 7th. Of course, the buzz also says the programme might even get pushed to the last week of April.
